M40 Chiltern Environmental Group

The Fight Goes on for a Safer and Quieter M40
The M40 Chilterns Environmental Group represent 25,000 people who live along the M40 corridor from Junction 3 at Loudwater, past High Wycombe, through the Chilterns AONB and The Aston Rowant Nature Reserve to Junction 8 at Wheatley in South Oxfordshire.
Day and Night these people suffer from intolerable noise pollution.
We realise that the Motorway is here to stay but our aim is to reduce its impact on the environment.

M40CEG Chairman's Report 2015
Report from AGM - December 2013
Press Release - August 2013
We are pleased to announce the latest press release from WDC.
This is a result of M40CEG’s persistence over the last few years to get someone to listen to us. It is very satisfying to read that finally we are getting somewhere with our endeavours.
Thanks to liaison with Co-op Community Challenge Team, Wycombe District Council, South Oxfordshire Council and The Highways Agency.
Press Release - September 2012
Recent recognition by the Highways Agency of 14 locations between Loudwater and Wheatley for First Priority Action is a measure of the progress of the campaign to reduce traffic noise from the M40 in our area. I will try to put this progress in perspective during my remarks at our forthcoming AGM, while John Howell MP will explain how his work as MP for Henley relates directly to the interests and well-being of local residents. A lively question time has been characteristic of previous AGMs of the group, and we expect this years’ will be no exception. Light refreshments will provide opportunity for further discussion with members of the committee.
